The Centro Escolar University Dental Alumni Association found its humble beginnings in the Los Angeles area of California during the mid-80’s. The organization was spearheaded mostly by visionary members of the Barkadahang Dentista, CEU College of Dentistry Class of 1983 led by Dr. Walter Garcia. The continuous operation of the group is made possible by Dr. Beth Lim from the Class of 1980.
The early 90’s witnessed blooming recruitment for the organization and became the platform for future meetings and charitable activities. In the 2000’s, several projects were carried out involving a couple of major reunions that raised funds for Philippine dental missions including the Cleft-Lip and Palate Surgery Program with the cooperation of some Filipino oral surgeons and Dr. Eliezer Blanes of CEU. The group also saw itself providing goods and clothing for the poor that revolved around their free dental treatment programs in cooperation with local dental chapters.
The CEUDAA-USA, now a corporation and an entity in itself, pursues more charitable activities and humanitarian missions for the poor and deserving Filipino families and in fact has several projects in queue for the next two years as the members try to live by the organization’s motto: Gifts of smiles from across many miles.
We are a nonprofit organization compassionately dedicated to improving the lives of less fortunate people in the Philippines. Along with educating others about the importance and awareness of dental health.
To implement sustainable programs that will improve the lives of the under served communities in the Philippines. To be a role model to all dental professionals and the opportunity to serve and improve the lives and well being of our fellow citizens.
